First up this morning was the postponed match of Joanie Kupfer and Stan Vanesse vs. Loriann Laugle and Anthony Irvin. Playing early this morning Loriann and Anthony prevailed with a score of 6-2, 6-0.
Making up matches this afternoon were: Barbara Robbins and Marcel Galiber who Greeba Richmond and Monty Mrotz by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Larry Kupfer and Sharon Quinn took on Maschauer dem (Leslie and Carl). Congrats to Leslie on her first tournament. Larry and Sharon win 6-3, 6-3. Leslie did great and stayed in points many times only to have her hubby blow the point. Yes...we said that. ;)
Patsy Knight and Dominick Durand prevailed over Bill and Juanna Bowles 6-2, 6-0. The steady play of Flo Logan and Carl Beckstedt gave the the win over Laurie Legrand and Phil Holzman.
Geez...did we see (we definitely HEARD!) Barbara Robbins and Marcel Galiber again?! Playing in both A and B, the gave it a great try but ended up losing A category to Joan Warren and Jerry Adames with the winners taking it 6-2, 7-5. Nice try!
Taking a win in THREE SETS were Sue Gibbons and Jake Hikel taking on the spirited team of Pam and Larry Morris. Sue and Jake REALLY worked for this win for reasons to be noted later...their scores 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.
Last but not least...Lee Rohn and Kevin Motta take on Marthia Herrelle and Dan Lawrence. The ever inspirational and sexy Marthia served great and take the first set 7-5. Lee and Kevin roar back and take the second set 3-6. Lee, having to leave on island on Saturday and would be unable to play in the event the won the deciding third set, graciously retired the match. Very gracious and classy...thank you Lee and Kevin.
