Tuesday results....awwww!

Whoever is doing the "no rain dance"...we thank you!  And those of you who are keeping Carlos Rosas from seeing this "no rain dance" request...WE LOVE YOU!  Another beautiful night under the stars at the Club!

Natalie Nelson and Gabrielle Armstrong used their tournament experience to defeat newcomer team Leslie Maschauer and Pam Morris.  Spirited in their play, with Pam running down shot after shot and Leslie doing a great job at the net...the other team proved to be just too strong and take the match by a score of 6-1, 6-2.

Next up we see Pat Worede and our new friend from St. John, Greeba Richmond taking on Adrienne Seward and Juana Bowles.  Visiting from St. John, we have nicknamed Greeba "Stingy" as she has not allowed a single game in her first two matches.  Today, "Stingy" and Pat won 6-0, 6-0.  Again...the score was not indicative of play...its just those key points!

In men's B singles, we see Robbie Stamper taking on Nyan Bansal.  Seems every year, Robbie takes on a junior and automatically becomes the bad guy.  After a particularly aggressive overhead by Robbie, the peanut gallery responds with "Bully!", "he is JUST a kid!"  Robbie replies, "Oh yeah?!  Well this kid is whipping me 0-4!!"  Robbie comes back with a vengeance and ties up the first set to 4 all...but Nyan comes back and takes the first set 6-4.  Continuing with some smart play and perhaps maybe just a "tiny" bit of coaching...Nyan comes back strong and takes the match with a final set of 6-3.  All smiles...it was a pleasure to watch Robbie support these juniors.  Good job Nyan!

In a highly anticipated match in Women's B Doubles...comeback kid Angie Klein and the ever steady Sue Gibbons take on the #1 seeded team of Deb "Ironwoman" Schreiber and Flo "even steadier" Logan.  Great crosscourt rallies, poaches, overheads, and great topspin lob placements, these ladies battled it out between the laughter in a very enjoyable match to watch.  The #1 team holds seed and wins in a close score of 6-4, 6-4.

The fun was off the court as well as Bar Vixen Joanie prepared more specialty drinks tonight to serve up with some INCREDIBLE CHILI prepared by Kim D'Eramo.  The chili was a sell out with turkey taco chili and sweet potato veggie chile being served up.  Thank you, Kim!

Food nights continue during the rest of the week with specialty inexpensive meals served up by Sherry Mansfield.  We see sausage, onions, and peppers served up on a roll, grilled chicken caeser salads, and lasagna on the menue over the next several day!  Keep checking the blog for more information.

Thanks to Joanie, Sharon, Toni, and Cindy for constantly helping out!
